Hispanic U.S. Almost 60% of U.S. Hispanics prefer to speak Spanish. 29 million US residents above the age of 5 speak Spanish at home. That's approximately 1 of every 10 US residents, an enormous consumer and business-to-business market. Remittances from U.S. Hispanics to Latin America reach about $46 million in 2008. Top five states include, California, Texas, New York, Florida and Illinois. California, Colorado, Washington, and Massachusetts and Nevada are expected to have the largest expected increases in remittances.
